At Creek Wood Academy, we believe a child’s physical learning environment is just as important as the teachers who are in it. Our classrooms are nearly twice the required size to allow for plenty of space to explore and learn. All of our classes have windows—and even glass walls—to view into other classes, which provides our students with a feeling of openness and helps prepare them for their next step in their early educational journey as they peek into the classroom where they will eventually move to.
Safety is always a top priority. Our classrooms have many safety features such as long windows on the closets and other areas that are not designated for children. The windows allow us to quickly see in and know if there is someone in there who shouldn’t be. There are finger guards on the door jams to keep little and big fingers from being accidentally smashed. Child locks are on all cabinets and drawers that are restricted to children but within their reach. The restrooms all have motion-sensitive lights and fans so that when your little one goes in, the light goes on. There are intercoms throughout the school to play child appropriate music throughout the day and lullabies at rest time.
